I spent a couple years ‘self-coaching’ and would try to piece together my training plans through advice from friends, training guides and experience. I was always hesitant about whether a coach would be worthwhile for me or not, since I really never struggle with self-discipline or motivation. The areas I felt that a coach could help me were to make sure I was training appropriately for whatever my goals were doing the season and that I needed assistance developing a training plan so that I could continue to progress in the sport of triathlon.
Several of the highlights of being coached by Heath:
I have complete faith and trust in Heath, he knows what he is doing and he knows how to get me where I want to go. I never have to think up workouts for myself, I just rely on him and he does all that planning and work for me. Heath is a great listener and always pays close attention to my training notes and will back-off if I needed it or would push me ahead when the timing was right. I like the simplicity of getting the custom weekly plans from him through Training Peaks and I love the feedback and comments after workouts. Heath is an all around like-able guy, he is one of those people that is just easy to get along with and really shows that he cares for the people that he coaches. He has helped me accomplish many PR’s this summer and fall and I am so pumped to see what we can do together in 2012!
